CYC Mission

The mission of the Catholic Youth Council is to proclaim Jesus Christ in word and action by serving the needs of every boy and girl, regardless of ability, religious affiliation or ethnic background, to develop discipline and skills necessary to obtain and sustain individual achievements, build character and to develop valued relationships and teamwork.

CYC Philosophy

The CYC accomplishes its mission through athletic, scouting and leadership programs designed to:

• Develop within participants an understanding of God's continuing love for them and their value as an individual.

• Cultivate a spirit of trust and concern for others.

• Inspire a sense of respect for the rights and responsibilities of others as individuals and groups.

• Impart spiritual and moral values.

• Instill ethical standards of conduct.

• Encourage cooperation and team spirit.

• Empower youth and young adults to become active in the Church and community.

Dates: 1st week of March – Wednesdays and Fridays (times tbd)
Location: 1st Tee Driving Range – 6286 Lemay Ferry Rd.
Our instructor is Laura McCune, andshe also offers additional lessons for an additional fee. The ratio of teachers to students will not exceed 10:1 and will probably be better than that.

South County Championship
Date: Saturday June 1st

Who: Top 3 – 5 players from each grade/gender grades 5-8th

Who: Top 2-4 players from 5th – 8th grade/gender grades from the South County Championship

Overview

Events vary based on age and gender. The season consists of one preliminary and one final meet staged by the CYC. 

Practices

Training will be on Sunday afternoons at Oakville H.S. beginning in March.

Meets

Everyone will participate in Prelim, qualifiers will participate in Final.  Athlete MUST be able to make both meets, so as to not take up spots in the final if you cannot make that date.
